Laodicia

The church at Laodicea was challenged by Jesus to be awakened to a Kingdom reality. They had believed the lies of the surrounding culture that they could find satisfaction and joy in gold, riches, and prosperity, but were blind to the truth - they were actually poor, pitiable, naked and blind. The prescribed remedy to their sickness was not to turn again to themselves for their sufficiency. Instead, they were called to turn to Jesus who offers true riches, clothing of our shame and nakedness, and healing for our blind eyes.
